Freedom of Information Law

The Albion Fire District adheres to New York State’s Freedom of Information Law, which allows the public access to certain government records.
To submit a formal FOIL request for incident reports, meeting minutes, financial documents, or other district records, please use one of the following methods:

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

By submitting this request, you acknowledge that you are requesting records pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), Article 6 of the Public Officers Law.

  • An automated confirmation of submission is not an official acknowledgment under Public Officers Law §89(3)(a). The Fire District’s Records Access Officer will send a formal, written response to the email address/mailing address provided within five (5) business days of receiving your request.
  • This response will either grant the request, deny it, or provide an approximate date by which a final determination will be made.
  • The Fire District is not required to create a new record in response to a FOIL request or answer questions.
  • Fees for copies may apply (typically 25 cents per page, or actual cost of media). You will be notified in advance if the estimated fee exceeds an amount you specify.
  • DO NOT include personal, private, or sensitive data (e.g., social security numbers, medical information) within this form. If sensitive information is necessary, please contact the Records Access Officer directly.
